Air Berlin flight
Tenerife Cabildo and Air Berlin promote Quality Tourism
The Cabildo's Minister of Tourism Jose Manuel Bermudez and Air Berlin have entered into an agreement to attract more affluent German tourists to Tenerife. The deal was made at the World Travel Market exhibition in London. Sr. Bermudez said the quality tourism initiative was one of the foremost parts of the Tenerife Tourism Strategy for the next few years.
The funding will be shared between the airline and the Cabildo and the first phase will begin imminently, with a 100,000 Euro investment to promote the north of the island. The second phase, will commence next year with an additional 200,000 Euro's and will promote the south of Tenerife to travel agencies and other professional tourist associations..read more about this story
Things to do in Tenerife
Tenerife is famous for all year round sunshine and black sand beaches, which are attributed to the Volcano "El Teide" situated at the centre of the island. The crystal clear waters that surround this Vibrant Island make it an extremely popular water-sports destination.
The beaches of Tenerife are mainly situated around the major tourist resorts some are of natural fine black sand, some of shingle and rock, others are man made and all are very high quality.
Several beaches have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag, for being extremely clean and environmentally friendly, most are easy to access and offer an abundance of facilities which include showers, sun beds, shaded areas, beach/snack bars and an excellent range of superb water-sports.
Daytime activities in Tenerife are in abundance and cater for all, they include hiking and cycling, paragliding, surfing, fishing, diving, sailing and golf. Try a new activity while the children are safely playing at the Kids Club.
For night time entertainment visit one of the many cabaret bars, take in a show, dine out at an endless selection of restaurants ranging from typical Canarian food, to Mexican, Chinese, Indian or Thai to name but a few. The major tourist resorts offer dancing till dawn with a great selection of cocktail bars and sophisticated clubs.
Most of the hotels here, offer a fantastic selection of facilities including restaurants and entertainment on site.
Young or old there is lots to do, so many wonderful places to see, there is something for everyone on this magical island.
Tenerife Weather
Tenerife has one of the best climates in the world and can more or less guarantee the sun all year round - nicknamed the island of eternal spring.
Different climatic areas can be found over the island - in the north lush vegetation, lunar like landscapes around Mount Teide and in the south dry and sunny conditions.
There are not many places on earth where you can pick an island that you want to holiday on, and pick your own climate depending where you visit!
